My project is a collection of interviews from the refugee community in Sydney. I aim to highlight their memories, journeys and experiences.
This project aims to humanise, advocate and raise awareness of the issues surrounding being a refugee. Through my conceptual illustrations, I strive to put the reader inside the shoes of what it would be like to be a refugee. Through the photography and interviews, I intend to provide a space where refugees can voice out their memories and challenges.

When you come to a new country, it is difficult to conform to the culture.

My greatest memory is it’s just a beautiful place. We used to ride our bicycles around- do lots of crazy stuff. My mum loves to plant vegetables and growing things such as spinach, chilli and corn.
- Fatmata Bangura
The journey was a very dangerous journey to here- stress, run and escape

They learnt that you should never give up and that if you work hard- you can achieve anything even through tough circumstance that the human spirit can always emerge through. Humans can be resilient to big experiences and big detrimental things that are happening in the world.

The brief was to create a set of font based on a theme. I chose Hello Kitty as my theme. The goal of this project was to incorporate Hello Kitty’s personality and aesthetics in the font which include short stumpy legs, black oval eyes, triangular ears and her oversized head. The main characteristics of this font include: a large x-height, filled in counters, dissecting lines, spurs that look like ears, soft stroke ends, vertical stress and thick stroke outlines.

This is a collaborative project to design a website which effectively showcases a project based on the gentrification and social change within the suburbs of Balmain, Annadale and Leichhardt from the 1950s to 1980s. The website needs to be accessible, easy to use and interactive and it aims to promote community engagement and a sense of place. The use of tone and colour will allow the website to embody a contemporary feel, relaying the message that history and heritage are dynamic and constantly evolving- not static and dated.

Street Cafe is an evangelical ministry of Central Baptist Church which shares the gospel to the people of Sydney. The colours of the logo represent the diversity of the people who serve and the people who are served – their stories are so different and yet God brings them together in His sovereignty. Each figure is holding a cup – and are sitting around in a circle sharing a drink and sharing their lives. The shape forms a cross which represents Christ.
