Metrology reference and standard materials
Aim to develop existing centres of gravity to advance common
metrology for measurement of priority Essential Ocean
Variables.
Tasked with developing the necessary metrology infrastructure
and dissemination of best practice.
Engagement with community through a series of workshops:
• Metrology and uncertainty (2016)
• Oxygen, pH and carbon dioxide (2018)
• Nutrient and fluorescence sensors (2018)
• Carbonate chemistry sensors (2019)

Emerging Networks Roadmap
• Roadmap focussed on identifying gaps where EOVs are not
currently addressed. Particularly for:
- Biogeochemical
- Biology observing systems and
- Industrial applications
• Roadmap relates each emerging network to observing
platforms, their maturity what key features are required to
secure the long term future of each network.
