Soaring kites
Year 6 have been busy making kites as part of their H.S.I.E unit on China. The students have had great fun decorating and flying the kites.
Principals message
The Priority Schools Funding Program (PSFP) provides schools with extra funding and staffing
that enables schools to implement additional learning programs for students.
In recent years Inverell Public School has used the funding to support supplementary literacy and
numeracy programs such as the Literacy and Maths Program (LAMP) and additional maths
groups for students in years 3-6.
Next Monday, 5th March 2012, families of students in Years K—4 will receive an envelope
containing the survey that is required for our school to be considered for the next 3 year PSFP
cycle 2013-2015.
It is very important that we have 100% of the forms returned as a high return rate is required to
ensure that our school will be considered for the program.
These surveys are highly confidential, any information will not be seen by any staff.
As an incentive, every child who returns a survey will receive a voucher for an icy pole from the
school canteen. In addition the names of all students in Years K—4 in the family will be entered
into a draw for 2 Ipod prizes or 3 Easter Egg prizes on return of the survey.
The class who returns the most surveys in the shortest space of time will be treated to a special
home made pizza lunch from the canteen.
Please be aware that surveys need to be filled in carefully. If you have any queries about the
survey content or the most appropriate terminology, please contact the school for assistance.
A member of the School Executive will be available at the school from 11.30am each day to
provide assistance to complete the survey.
Assistance is also available for families who may require an interpreter. Mr Faren Boney,
Aboriginal Education Officer, will also be available to provide assistance.
I know I can rely on your support. Thankyou in advance for your assistance.

Healthy bites
Lychees! Lychees are a great little fruit
to pop in the lunch box for something
different. They are easy to peel and
reveal a shiny ball of firm sweet flesh
with a delicate taste. Chew around the
shiny brown seed and enjoy. Yummo.
Be quick as lychees will only be readily
available for another month. Lychees
are very rich in Vitamin C and also
supply dietary fibre.
