2.5 Message/Credit LimitsTheAdministratorhastheoptionoflimitingthenumberofmessagecreditsthatcanbeusedbyapersonorgroup.ThenumberofremainingcreditsisindicatednexttotheCredits remaining:textatthebottomrighthandsideofallscreens.
ThenumberofCredits remainingisreducedbyoneforeachSMSmessagesent.Whenusingmailmegorabulkmessagesendformanyrecipients,themessagelimitisreducedbythetotalnumberofrecipientstowhichitissent.Ifthereisnolimittothenumberofmessagessent,thewordUNLIMITEDappears.
Ifabulkmailormailmegmessageistobesentto,forexample,500recipients,andyouonlyhave200messagecreditsremaining,noneofthemessageswillbesent.
2.6 Sending SMS and MMS Messages Using the Quick ContactsWhenselectingrecipients,youcanselectthemfromtheQuickContacts,Personal,CompanyContactsorGroupsoriftheydonotexistintheQuickContacts,youcanentertheirmobilenumberdirectlyintheTo:editbox.MMSmessagesaresentusingthe Send MMSMenuOptionscreen.
2.6.1 Selecting Recipients From Quick ContactsTosearchforandselectrecipientsfromoneofthe•ContactsorGroupslists,SelecttheSend SMSMenuOption.TheSend SMSscreendisplays(seeFigure2.0).

2.6.3 Composing the SMS/MMS MessageWhencomposingaSMS/MMS,youcaneithercomposeanewmessageoruseapre-existingtemplate.
TocomposeanewSMSmessage,typethemessageinthe•Compose Messagetextbox.Thereisalimitof160charactersforasingleSMS.ThenumberofcharactersremainingisshownintheCharacters remainingfield.IfyouaresendingaLongSMS,whichallowsmorethanoneSMSmessagetobesent,thenthecharactersremainingforeachSMSmessagearedisplayedfirst,theninbrackets()thenumberofSMSmessages.ThecreditrequiredtosendaLongSMSisthenumbershownwithinthebrackets.
∑TocomposeanewMMSmessage,youwillneedtousethe•MMSComposer(Figure2.1).

Layout Options:ChoosethecontentlayoutofalltheMMSslidesinthemessage.Checktheradiobuttonnexttothelayoutrequired,eithertextbelowimage(default),textaboveimageorasingleregionslide(singleregionslidecanonlyhavetextoranimage).
Template:SelectapredefinedtemplatefromthelistofoptionsintheSelectTemplatedrop-downlist.Ifthemessagebodyisonethatisusedregularly,itismoreefficienttocreateatemplatewhichcanbere-used.RefertoSection:2.13.1ManagingPersonalTemplatesfordetailsonhowtocreatetemplates.
Compatibility:TelstraDesktopMessagingisconfiguredtoacceptcontentandcreatemessagesthatwillbeabletobedeliveredtoarangeofhandsets.SelectaHandsetCompatibilitylevelfromthelistofoptionsinthedrop-downlist.Thisistoassistincomposingmessagesthatarecompatiblewithhandsetranges.
Upload File:TheBROWSEbuttonallowstheuploadofmultimediacontentfromyourPC,orenterthedirectoryandfilenameintheadjacenttextbox.

2.7 Scheduling MessagesMessagescanbedeliveredataspecifiedfuturetime.Forexample,deliveramessageat8amtomorrowmorningtoremindeverybodyintheManagersGroupthatthereisamanagementmeetingat9am.Todothis,themessagecanbecreatednowandscheduledusingtheSEND LATERbuttonontheSend SMSscreenwherethetimefordeliveryisspecified.Messagescanbescheduledusingthefollowingoptions:
ONCE ONLY–messageisscheduledforonce-offdelivery.
