VIDEO: Bubba forgoes fan's four-iron advice

Bubba Watson, who ended up beating Paul Casey in a playoff, isn't afraid to talk back to fans in thegallery, especially if they say something completely ludicrous. Which was the case on the par-4 2ndhole at TPC River Highlands during the final round of the Travelers Championship.

Watson hit his drive in the right rough -- not where you want to be hitting into that hole since there'sa big tree blocking your line -- leaving him with 101 yards to the green. No big deal if you're a shot-maker like Bubba, though. A nearby drunk and clueless spectator had his own ideas on how to hit itand yelled at Bubba to punch a low 4-iron.

"That's why you're on that side of the ropes," Bubbafired back.

Now, that's an absurd suggestion for several reasons(and I rarely agree with the two-time Masters champ).First of all, if Bubba hit a punch 4-iron from 100 yards, itwould sail over the green. Secondly, Bubba launches ithigh enough in the air (and far enough) to hit a sandwedge over the tree and onto the green to about fourfeet. Which is exactly what he did.

Before moving along and walking away, Bubba stoppedand looked around in the gallery for the fan who decidedto impart the bit of advice. He bobbled his head and

peered in the crowd before saying, "Who wanted the 4-iron punch?"

It was a funny moment, but at the sametime, I'm not certain Bubba was "jokingaround" with the fans. Hey, it's better thanthrowing his caddie under the bus, though!
