xAPI + Open badges in enterprise learningMozilla Open Badges – Research call 6.11.2013
Presentation contents
• Purpose and goals in enterprise learning
• Background and technology• Where are we right now?• Live demo and discussion
Purpose and goalsRemoving barriers and allowing peer-level knowledge sharing
Going beyond course based learning
• How to capture tacit knowledge in organizations– Social learning allows feedback and discussion
• How to get people to share knowledge– UX challenge– Awarding sharing knowledge– Allow peer review and valuation of knowledge
Knowledge sharing on peer-level• Our goal is to support structuring the hidden knowledge
between employees on a peer-to-peer level. • In this concept badge issuer and receiver can both be
persons, without issuer needing to be a organization. – Trust is based on reputation and experience on amount of
shared content. – Shared contents are small enough that they can be easily
described on meaningful level, that it's useable from Tin Can perspective
– This combined with gaming elements, like achievements and challenges could be used and directed within a enterprise to encourage knowledge sharing in a structured way.
