Description

The hut of orphans of Kenya in partnership with other local groups and the community, have embarked on rehabilitating dumpsites and turning them to wealth creating spaces. The pilot program is in Grogan Korogocho. The space will be used to dry briquettes and general recycling activities, including collection polythene milk packets in particular that will be used for potting.

Overview

The dumpsite will not be relocated but manned.

All waste brought by garbage collectors will be separated immediately as it comes

Recovered materials will be transferred accordingly

Cleared spaces will be used for drying and packaging of briquettes, urban farming and potting

Community participation will be encouraged for sustainability purposes
