Supported
topologies
This
chapter
describes
supported
topologies
for
Tivoli
Provisioning
Manager
and
the
supporting
software,
such
as
the
database
server
and
the
Web
server.
The
configurations
described
in
this
chapter
apply
to
all
platforms,
with
exceptions
and
limitations
being
clearly
identified.
Note:
In
all
topologies,
all
nodes
must
be
running
the
same
operating
system,
with
the
following
exceptions:

The
directory
server,
when
installed
on
a
server
that
does
not
have
any
other
Tivoli
Provisioning
Manager
software
installed
(for
example
WebSphere
Application
Server
or
DB2
Universal
Database
Workgroup
Server
Unlimited
Edition),
does
not
need
to
be
running
the
same
operating
system
as
the
Tivoli
Provisioning
Manager
server.
The
only
exception
to
this
occurs
on
Windows
with
Microsoft
Active
Directory.
If
Microsoft
Active
Directory
is
your
directory
server,
all
Tivoli
Provisioning
Manager
servers
must
be
running
on
Windows.
