THE VOICE 2016
The Music Department hosted the final of our Voice competition on Thursday 16
June. Since half term, singers from all year groups across College have been auditioning and these were eventually whittled down to the final 12. The judges were treated to music from a breadth of genres including music by Bruno Mars, Melanie Martinez, Adele and Calum Scott. The competition was judged by Mrs Fazakerley (Subject Leader for Music) and Mrs Saunders. The standard of performance was incredibly high, with many of our contestants being part of Vocaliser, Harmony Singers and other groups outside of College. All of the vocalists who took part have been outstanding throughout the competition and have really showcased the wealth of talent we have here at College across the different year groups.

On Thursday 23 June, over 20 of our Year 9 students received the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Michael’s Church. This is such a special time and we congratulate each and every one who took this bold and adult step of faith, and we thank them. So, this weekend, we hold all of those newly confirmed young people in our prayers and maybe also revisit our own Confirmations, perhaps thinking about what that means and asking ourselves how we live out our faith each day. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with the courage we need to be confident Christians, alive with God’s love:
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us. Melt us.
Mould us. Fill us. Use us.
Spirit of the Living God, fall afresh on us. Amen
