THE INTERNET OF THINGS
• By 2020, 40.9 billion things will be connected
– Via Wi-Fi, wire line, cellular, and proximal networks
– Benefiting billions of people worldwide
– 75% of the growth between today and the end of the decade will come from non-hub devices
• IoT is Transforming:– Industry

SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
• The primary features IofT devices today are
convenience and security
• It is difficult to manage what you don’t
measure, but who wants to manage a lot of
things?
• Consumers are not enamored with
“automatic” devices or features that need to be
disabled or overriden
• What a “green home” needs are “smart”
devices that save water and energy without
intervention, but adding connectivity increases
their value proposition in the residential system

OUR MISSION
ISI Technology is transforming how the world heats and uses water. We have developed the
world’s first fully electronic liquid heating technology, which delivers unparalleled
performance, reliability, and flexibility. Innovative and patented digital architectures offer
unprecedented measurement, control, and connectivity of your water heating experience. A
wide range of applications can be seamlessly integrated with the Internet of Things resulting
in significant water and energy savings , information, increased comfort, and user
satisfaction.
Our first product, the MODEL 1, can significantly improve the performance of any hot water
heating system, anywhere in the world, today.

TODAY’S RESIDENTIAL HOT WATER EXPERIENCE
Accounts for:
• 36% of household water consumption
• 12-18% of household energy costs
Existing heating technology is:
• Inefficient
• Unreliable
• Inflexible in use and operation
Results in:
• Wasted energy & water
• High maintenance and replacement costs
• No real-time temperature control
• Poor user experience
• Controlled Ohmic heating
• Water is heated using graphite electrodes and
electronic controls
• No conventional failure modes
• Operates at flow rates as low as 0.1 GPM
• Instant and accurate temperature control
• Single SKU operates 100-250 VAC, 15-48 amps, and
50-60 Hz
• Scalable and modular technology
World’s first completely electronic
water heater

OUR DISRUPTIVE WATER HEATING TECHNOLOGY
Results in:
• Energy efficiency >99%
• Energy savings of up to 40%
• Water savings of 5-10%
• Variety of installation options
• Reduced life-cycle costs
• Outstanding user experience
• Many new industrial and commercial, vertical
or complementary applications

OUR TECHNOLOGY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
• There are 117 million households in the US, each uses 28,000 gallons of
hot water which requires 2,000 kWh of energy per year.
• If every home in the US used a MODEL 1 water heating system, then over
640 billion gallons of water would be saved annually. That’s enough water
to supply 40% of California households.
• This scenario would also save the country 64 million MWh of energy per
year. That’s the amount of energy produced from burning 35 million tons of
coal, and would allow the closure of over 30 coal-fired power plants.
• Eliminating these plants would reduce annual CO2 emissions by 141 billion
pounds, or 4% of total US emissions from coal.

CONNECTIVITY – STAGE 1
• Control – temperature, schedule, length of water heating session
• Measure – power, flow, temperature, and energy consumption
Innovative and patented digital architectures offer unprecedented control and
measurement

HOME WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM – STAGE 2
The MODEL 1’s IoT features can become your home’s smart water management
system, using the MODEL 1’s existing digital controls
Possibilities
• Remote temperature control, scheduling, and energy management
• Water sensing (flow, leaks, usage, sources, and quality)
• Water management control and notification
• Data generation around water usage, timing, and interfaces with other devices.
Benefits
• Centralized water management • Risk/cost reduction or elimination• Water and energy saving features
and notifications• Interoperability with devices that
use hot water • Built-in Wi-Fi router and/or extender• Data sets for consumers and
utilities

REALIZING THE DREAM
• The IofT allows devices to connect today, primarily for convenience and
security.
• As electronics become more embedded in devices, they will be able to
connect to improve system performance through information sharing and
learning their master’s habits.
• The nexus of our advanced technology with more powerful and less
expensive electronics allows the MODEL 1 and our next products to add
value to the IofT universe, realize the “smart home” dream, and make our
homes and the earth much “greener”
