Why it’s happening
The FMCSA, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT), have a primary goal to improve road safety and reduce the number of accidents that happen throughout the United States.
Their solution: the electronic logging device mandate, or ELD Mandate.
Using ELDs instead of paper logs and AOBRDs is already compulsory, but on December 16th, 2019, it will become law that your ELDs are both up-to-date, and in line with all mandate requirements.
