WHAT THEY SAID:
Le Monde, France -‐ There is something cooking in the Danish Kingdom. And not only in the pots at NOMA (…), it’s boiling just beneath the surface of the rock and pop, that used to belong to the princes in Efterklang, Agnes Obel, Trentemøller, 4 Guys From The Future, Our Broken Garden and Asteroids Galaxcy Tour. The country even has its own festival dedicated to the up-‐coming artists: SPOT Festival. (Stéphane Davet) El Mundo, Spain -‐ There was so much to choose from at SPOT that the festival audience was more than true to the city’s well known saying: Aarhus is the city of smiles. (Pablo Gil) -‐ (…) with these, and several other SPOT concerts, it is clear that the Scandinavian pop/rock scene most definitely will continue to be as varieted as it is exquisite. (Pablo Gil) El Mundo, Spain -‐ SPOT Festival is a big event, that has an ability to show a broad and varying range of the hottest music, which has well noted through the last decade in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland – all countries who have excellent experiences with exporting their music to the rest of Europe -‐ and often with great commercial success. (Pablo Gil) Clash, United Kingdom -‐ There’s a vast ocean of bands to wade through first. This is the 18th edition of Spot, where the next wave of Nordic talent shows off for enthusiastic local fans and international agents, bookers and assorted media types. (Si Hawkins) Drowned in Sound, United Kingdom -‐ SPOT has long been recognized as a landmark event for many emerging Scandinavian artists (…) With such an array of fine musical delights to savour, DiS found itself spoilt for choice. (Dom Gourlay) -‐ Now in its 18th year, SPOT has long been recognised as a landmark event for many emerging Scandinavian artists. (Dom Gourlay) -‐ [SPOTs]…vibrant mix of industry-‐led conferences and live music spread across four separate sites make it one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the calendar. (Dom Gourlay) -‐ The current Danish music scene -‐ and Scandinavia in general to be fair -‐ seems to be bursting at the seams with a glut of undiscovered talent. (Dom Gourlay) Bilboard.biz, United Kingdom -‐ SPOT is Denmark's regular annual showcase festival for new and established local music, an essential event for Scandinavia's music business. Nordic Culture in China, China -‐ Spot Festival is not the same as other festivals. Good, because Danish, Poland -‐ The second day in Aarhus, Saturday, was wonderful. First, lovely shows during Spot DAYPARTY, then... musical heaven. Seriously. Heaven….() When the last sounds came to the end, I had tears in my eyes. Because it was the end of Spot Festival 2012.
spotfestival.dk - [email protected]
Indierock Reviews (IRR), US -‐ SPOT was a musical exploration; it was a festival with an alternative edge that possessed a true sense of raw creativity in both the performers and the onlookers. (Rachel Mackay) Art-noir, Switzerland. March -‐ Going to SPOT is a must! Knack Focus, Belgium -‐ Our latest trip to Denmark was yet again all but a waste of time… Intro, Germany -‐ Thank you Aarhus... FM4, Austria -‐ ...the 18th edition of SPOT was a big success. ORF.at, Austria -‐ A model for Austria to follow... Byte.fm, Germany -‐ Cosy atmosphere and praiseworthy Danish hosts... Crazewire, Germany -‐ ...this was definitely worth the trip! Byte.FM Magazin, Germany -‐ Thank you so much SPOT Festival! See you next year... ArtNoir, Switzerland -‐ SPOT thrilled in 2012 as well and presented itself as a perfectly bound, colorful bouquet of flowers. Crazewire, Germany -‐ You watch the audience with the following knowledge: Aarhus was worth the trip... Clash Magazine, England -‐ Denmark is having a particularly fertile year musically speaking with some fine new acts already breaking through, and a few established acts on the come back trail.
