TheFestival wishes to invite the over 50’s community

and their families to a night celebrating their part insociety. There will be a fully stocked bar, tea and coffee, acold buffet and music (also coming is professional dance

instructor for anybody who wishes to take part in abit of dance). This event will be a great

chance to celebrate the joys of life,and the contribution that older

people make to thecommunity.

Comeand try foods from across the world, made by local

cooks, including from Cameroon, Poland, China, theCaribbean - mains and puddings! tasters as usual,

along with good, friendly and chatty atmosphere.Weather permitting, we will also be out on

and residents young and old taking part! Get dressedup to be in with a chance of winning your place in

the Olympic chariot parade float; you couldrepresent your favourite sport, country,

or come as an Olympic God orGoddess.

SNEINTON FESTIVAL is a volunteer run community group whose mission is to organise social events for the benefit of the community in Sneinton/Dales andbeyond. Each year the main festival day is the first Saturday in July, so we can all plan ahead. We are always looking for new group members of all ages anddifferent backgrounds, so why not get involved (or just join our facebook group)! facebook or call 0115 9622200 for info). Comealong for outdoor cafe & music, locally

cakes, live cookingdemos chutneys,

gifts, crafts,plants,seeds,growingadvice.

.Once again the Lord Nelson will host an open mic eveningto kick off the festival week proper. Expect a variety of

music styles and spoken word performances fromartists spanning the generations. Many will be

warming up for their appearances on the mainfestival day (see Right for the amazing line

up of artists performing this year), sowhy not get a sneak peak with a pintand the friendliest atmosphere
