The present tense... Refers to events that are happening

The past tense… Refers to events that happened in the
past Examples: (words in green are past
tense verbs)▪ You created a great project!▪ We jogged quickly yesterday.▪ He cleaned his room.

The past tense… Usually “-ed” is added to verbs to make
them in the past (play / played, moan / moaned, etc.)
REMEMBER! There are sometimes irregular verbs:▪ Run / ran, keep / kept, begin / began, bring /
brought
• Change the verb, whether in the past or the present tense, to the infinitive form.
• The magic word “will”, when added before the verb, transforms it into the future tense.

When a present tense sentence needs to be changed to a question… The verb still changes to the infinitive
form But… “will” is moved to the beginning of
the sentence.
