Application Matrix and Product Properties
Adhesive TypesThere are two different types of SikaBond® floor covering adhesives: ‘Wet’, and ‘dry’ (also known as ‘pressure-sensitive’) adhesives. The ‘wet’ adhesives have shorter flash-off times and the floor coverings have to be installed immediately, at the latest 30 minutes after application of the adhe-sive. The ‘dry’ or ‘pressure-sensitive’ adhesives have longer flash-off times and remain ‘tacky’ even after the complete evaporation of water from the adhesive.

The environmental conditions and the absorbency of the subfloor must also be considered because of their major influence on flash-off, installation and drying times.

Sika® Level and Sika® PrimerSika® Level cementitious underlayment mortars for levelling-up uneven substrates provide a very smooth surface and therefore also lower the consumption of the floor covering adhesive. The Sika® Level solutions can be applied at layer thicknesses up to 40 mm with very low emissions and the range includes primers for use as sealers and / or moisture barriers below the underlayment mortars.
SikaBond®
Low emissions, ease of use and excellent adhesion were also important factors when Sika devel-oped wood floor bonding adhesives for today’s market. With special solutions for sound damping, our extensive range of elastic adhesives, moisture barriers, environmentally friendly primers and ergonomic application equipment such as the SikaBond® Dispenser, Sika shows compe-tence and responsibility.
SikaCeram®
Tile adhesives and grouts are an important part of the Sika flooring product range.
