Your grades for this class are measured in the following way:
Most project assignments have a value of 100 points. (includes all Black
& White projects, digital projects, quizzes/tests and worksheets.)
Social Skills are a very important part of life and success in this class. You will receive a grade in this category
that is part of your overall grade.
Deadlines are a factor in this class that can make or break your grade. If
you are able to manage your time constructively you will have no trouble
meeting deadlines. If you are a procrastinator you will fail. It’s just that
simple.
• Arrive to class on time.
• Always ask permission to leave the room.
• Treat everyone with respect.
• Respect other people’s property.
• Be responsible for your own stuff.
• Clean up after yourself.
Safety IssuesSafety Issues
Although you don’t usually think of anyone getting hurt using a camera or working on the computer, there are some safety issues that you need to be aware of.
Safety IssuesSafety Issues
• Chemicals: The processes of developing black and white film and printmaking involve the use of liquid chemicals. These chemicals are all
mild acids. The warnings on the labels contain the following: HARMFUL IF
SWALLOWED. CAUSES SKIN AND EYE IRRITATION. MAY CAUSE ALLERGIC
SKIN REACTION.

So, just follow good common sense when using them. If you do happen to get chemicals in your
eyes, use the emergency eye wash bottles found at each work
area.
Because technology increases in speed and scope every 18 months, it is a challenge to keep up with all the
current changes and advances. In this course we only scratch the surface and give you an overall
exposure to a variety of photographic mediums.

with anything, computer skills come with practice. There are
many web sites that will help you learn more advanced skills. Take advantage of this and you will be
surprised how much you will learn. You will get out of this class exactly what you put into it.
