BXA: Allows SP to analyze track segments received out of time.EU: Test consistency of 2 track segments to share track.TAU: Links successfully extrapolated segments.FSU: Selects best 3 tracks, cancels redundant tracks.AU: Assigns Pt value and uncertainty.

Tuning Tuning bb LUTs LUTs
We will use correlation between and bend to find allowed range for in a given and bend bin
This will also allow us to further untangle low Pt from high Pt tracks.

1-1-2-3 2 3CLCT Pattern Number
Strip
These are just the CLCT Pattern Numbers.
Patterns 1 and 2 are very similar. They do not give enough bend information.
These patterns are defined for both half and di-strip track segments corresponding to high and low momentum tracks

Tuning Tuning bb LUTs LUTs
Need more half strip bend
patterns from CSCs. With the current Trigger design, we do not have enough information to establish cuts or to discriminate low from high Pt tracks.
Extrapolation Type:
ME1-ME2bend given by CSCs
bend 0< Pt<1010<Pt<2525<Pt<5050<Pt<100
Placing bend cutting on bend = ±2:•Brings trigger efficiency down to 95%•Rate only reduces by 50% for Pt<7 J. Mumford has written a set of instructions for changing the CLCT pattern numbers. So, we hope to create more patterns soon!

Current Trigger Rate from GMTCurrent Trigger Rate from GMT
Need a reduction in rate in the overlap region. Improving PT resolution will help.

b=12 (left bending), =9
b=15 (straight) , =9
b from DT is rescaled from [-511, 511] range to [0,31]. has [0,63] range over 0.9-2.4 -units
So, b=15 is a straight patter, usually from high PT muons.

Residual Plot in Overlap Region using new fit method
So, we have a 10% improvement over current SW model. Also, using a 2 function approach gives a 2% improvement over a single function.

ConclusionsConclusions
What’s been done in ORCA 6?• New b cuts installed for ME1 and MB1
ExtrapolationsSoon to come:
• Modify PT assignment in ORCA using new scheme. • Develop new CLCT pattern scheme.• Use the same approach as used in EU type 2-5 to
generate b cuts and improve PT resolution for other extrapolation types.
Include SP Bunch crossing analyzer in ORCA – improve efficiency [Long Term]
