WAYNE MANOR PLAYHOUSE
Like Bruce Wayne, this play house is more than meets the eye.
From the front, it is Bruce Wayne, billionaire businessman.
French doors tucked between stone pillars mark the entrance to
Wayne Manor. Once inside guests are immediately drawn to the
magnificent trompe-l’oeil of a bookcase that covers the entire
wall. Little do they know, this splendid centerpiece holds a secret.
The wall opens, revealing a hidden passage to the Batcave.
Once inside, the Batcave comes alive. A ladder along the wall
leads to the roof for look outs, and a slide allows for a fast exit.
Once the Batlight is turned on the action begins. Combine this
house with some imagination and any child can be The Dark
Night.

General storage
The Matthews wanted to added more space to their guest bathroom while
adding a touch of their transitional style. Taking a modern interpretation of their
19th Federal style row house, this bathroom does just that. Classical crown
molding stretches around the room, while accenting the playful lavender wall
color. White subway tile surrounds the shower mimicking the brick pattern on
the outside of their home. A traditional claw foot bathtub is set off by a
breathtaking tile background. With a linen closet big enough to hold all the
must have bathroom items this bathroom provides all the storage that was
desired. Selecting traditional style pieces while adding contemporary accents
this bathroom is just what the Matthews requested and more.

CATALINA
This Catalina ottoman is inspired by an
early 17th century medieval chair. Elements
such as the exquisite carving and baluster
turned legs are incorporated into the
ottoman, but with a modern interpretation.
Defined by its quatrefoil pattern, which is
highlighted by inset mirrors, this piece pulls
many elements from the medieval era.
Using a modern fabric accented with
traditional edging this ottoman becomes a
transitional piece that will be a great addition
to any home.

PRELIMINARY SKETCHES
SUSTAINABLE LAKESIDE
This kitchen mixes a rustic feel with modern style to create this
beautiful kitchen. The open layout is optimal for entertaining –
whether you have a few close friends over or you’re hosting a
large party. The high end, energy efficient appliances provide any
chef with the tools needed to create that special dish. The finish-
es are both beautiful and sustainable, ensuring that your kitchen
lasts as long as the memories that you create in it. The main ap-
pliances are located along the walls to create an L shape that
provides a large prep area so that the host can easily prepare
food. The refrigerator, gas cook top, and apron sink are strategi-
cally placed to form a functional work triangle. A large island de-
sign is positioned directly across from the kitchen work space and
a small bar neighbors the seating area. There is an under-counter
refrigerator and ice maker, perfect for mixing drinks, hidden in the
cabinetry below the bar sink. The vast counter space provided by
the island functions perfectly when accommodating buffet style
dining. The close proximity of the working space and the enter-
taining area means that the chef can easily converse with the
guests. This kitchen is the attractive mix of aesthetic beauty and
modern functionality. The efficient layout is fitting for any occa-
sion while the energy efficient appliances and timeless finishes
combine to create a kitchen that will last a lifetime.

Traditional Farmhouse
The Maland family wanted a traditional style kitchen that
incorporates the feel of an old fashioned farmhouse and this kitchen
delivers exactly that. It was essential that the layout maximize the
use of this small space. The galley style kitchen incorporates all of
the must have appliances and includes a baking center housed on
the side to create the convenient baking area. Incorporating storage
into the open floor plan proved to be a challenge, but hanging glass
paneled wall cabinets in the space above the island allowed for
storage space while preserving the open feel of the space. Family
time is important to the Maland's and bar style seating allows the
family of four to dine on breakfast and other casual meals while the
large dining set makes for great family dinners and formal eating.
Bench style seating in the right corner overlooks the backyard,
creating a cozy nook for reading or just watching nature happen. The
left side of the dining area offers a beverage area and adds even
more convenience with open shelving for displaying the families
most prized artifacts. All in all, this space is the perfect combination
of open and cozy, giving the Maland family a kitchen that they will
enjoy for years to come.

Lakeside Retreat
Ann and John Davis wanted an oasis. They wanted a place that
reflected the natural surroundings and incorporated the outside
elements of their lakeside community in Nebraska. The calm,
refreshing design of this bathroom works in harmony with the
lakeside scenery to give them exactly what they wanted. The
large picture window invites the outdoors into the space and the
finishes are all-natural and environmentally friendly. The space
features two sink areas and a separate bidet. The sinks were
placed in the front of the room, across from each other to provide
both harmony and usability. The Davis’s desired a separate bidet,
so a cove was built to enclose both the bidet and the toilet. A
sliding barn door made from reclaimed barn wood provides
privacy and seclusion. The space also features a large tub and a
separate shower area. The tub is a large jetted tub placed directly
in front of the picture window and is enclosed by stone walls on
each side. This setting makes the tub a focal point and the stone
walls create a cave like atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing.
The large roll in shower features multiple shower heads and not
only offers a consistent flow but also allows ageing in place. The
shower includes a large shower faucet, body sprays and a rain
head, all of which work together to produce a relaxing waterfall
setting. This bathroom captures the rustic feel of the outdoors
while providing all of the modern comforts that Ann and John will
enjoy for many years to come.
