PROVIDE ADVANCED FIRST AID HLTAID006 – PROVIDE ADVANCED FIRST AID &

HLTAID001 – PROVIDE CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR )

DURATION 8 contact hours

COURSE OUTLINE

This unit of competency is a nationally accredited course that provides students with the skills and knowledge required to apply advanced first aid responses which includes management of the incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical assistance. These competencies cover:

Responding in an emergency situation

Evaluate the incident

Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical assistance

Communicate details of the incident

Apply appropriate first aid procedures

Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

Theory and practical assessments will be conducted throughout the course. On successful completion participants receive a Statement of Attainment.

Contributes to a PCBU’s due diligence profile

Nationally accredited course

Accepted in main stream industries throughout Australia

This unit of competency applies to all persons who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response & perform CPR across a range of complex situations, including workplace and community settings.

LEGISLATION/COMPLIANCE

Our training centre is located at 12 Little Bramston Street Gladstone. Alternately courses can be booked for any location where appropriate facilities can be provided.

LOCATION OF TRAINING

A total fee of $170 per person which covers all course materials, administration, training facility and catering costs.

COURSE COSTS

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

Individuals who believe they may be competent in this unit of competency can apply for RPL. RPL is available based on relevant work experience, formal training or expertise. To complete this course successfully, participants need to

have reasonably well developed skills in areas such as reading, writing and communication. Examples of activities that participants will need to perform include:

Seek assistance & accurately convey incident details to emergency response services

Deploy & co-ordinate resources

Monitor the condition of casualties in accordance with first aid principles & workplace procedures

Report details of incident in line with organisational policies

LANGUAGE LITERACY & NUMERACY (LLN)

Participants must be able to kneel on the floor to conduct CPR cycles.
