Stephen Selwood KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Stephen is the chief executive of New Zealand’s peak infrastructure industry body the New Zealand Council for

Infrastructure Development. He is an expert on the infrastructure sector with a deep understanding of infrastructure governance, strategy, regulation, funding, delivery and management. He has undertaken extensive research of infrastructure policy implementation and delivery within New Zealand and overseas. Particular areas of expertise include, infrastructure industry leadership, productivity, advanced procurement, investment analysis, communications and stakeholder relationship management. He acts in an advisory capacity to the industry and on government appointed expert advisory groups. He is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors and has held a number of governance positions within the local government sector and charitable organisations.

Dr. Mike MamloukKEYNOTE SPEAKER

Dr. Mamlouk is a Professor and Chairman of the Civil, Environmental and Sustainable Engineering program at Arizona State University.

Dr. Mamlouk graduated from Purdue University and has many years of research and teaching experience in the field of pavement design, pavement evaluation, and material characterization. He has directed numerous research projects on sustainable pavement, pavement evaluation, material testing, pavement preservation and nondestructive testing. Dr. Mamlouk has published over 100 technical papers and is the main author of the “Materials for Civil and Construction Engineers” textbook, published by Pearson Education Inc., which has been used at more than 150 schools worldwide. He is a professional engineer in the state of Arizona. He is a fellow of ASCE and an active member of other professional societies such as TRB, AAPT and ASTM.

Roger is a Civil Engineer and Member of the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand. His career spans government, State Owned

Enterprises and the private sector, with infrastructure experience including:

> major industrial projects,

> high rise buildings,

> investigations for new electricity generation opportunities,

> government policy development,

> renewable energy in the Pacific,

> civil defence and emergency management,

> natural hazards research, and

> new technologies.

Within the National Infrastructure Unit (NIU) Roger leads work on Infrastructure Resilience and Infrastructure Research.
