About the PresenterJames Dwyer is a teacher with a passion for robotics, who loves to share his knowledge and excite other teachers! James has substantial experience as a facilitator of robotics workshops, from beginning to advanced. He is heavily involved in RoboCup competitions and has mentored numerous teams to success at the highest levels. James has a warm and engaging presentation style and his supportive approach to learning makes him a great workshop presenter.

Intermediate Robotics Workshop – Advancing beyond the basicsWhen: Day 2 - Fri 24th March 2017 9.30am-3pm

Target Audience: Teachers with a basic knowledge of the EV3 platform looking to extend their knowledge of programming or data logging.
In this workshop, participants will: • Further develop their understanding of programming with the EV3
robotics system • Create programs incorporating variables and mathematical algorithms • Use advanced sensors such as those used in the RoboCup Jnr
Australia competition • Learn advanced programming techniques • Learn EV3-G shortcuts and use of Bluetooth • Use the EV3 as a data logger • Troubleshoot with the EV3 • See the EV3 programmed in a text-based language and a ‘Scratch’
like language using RobotC.

Target Audience: Teachers interested in learning about the EV3 platform or those wanting to learn more about implementing it in the classroom.
In this workshop, participants will: Discover why robotics is becoming a major tool for teaching STEM & more. Experience first-hand just how engaging and stimulating robotics can be in developing creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork & communication skills. Teachers will: • Be introduced to the EV3 hardware through a quick build robot
exploring the use of motors & sensors • Program using the introductory level of the EV3 software• See how students can add text, images & video to record and
document their learning • Explore curriculum material to match your needs & requirements in the
classroom• Experience a brief introduction to data logging with EV3
