Resilient Jakarta Strategy As Umbrella for A Bigger Movement
Unlike the strategies in other cities that specifically targeted to solve one particular issue, Jakarta provides a strategy
that serves as an “umbrella” for the various programs and initiatives of different stakeholders.
By providing an “umbrella” for each program and initiative, Jakarta is expected to be able to
encourage a broader range of stakeholders to participate in building the city's resiliency
The Strategy :
Well-Prepared
Healthy
Connected
• Promoting Environmental Friendly-lifestyle
• Optimize Inter-region Cooperation On
Environmental Services
• Encouraging the Development of Application for
Reducing Disaster and Climate Change Impact
• Increasing Utilization of Alternative Water
Sources
• Reducing Waste Production
• Optimizing Waste Bank Activities
• Encourage multi stakeholders interregional
coordination on transport policy
• Developing Incentive and Disincentive Schemes
• Encouraging the Development of Integrated
Decision Making Dashboards
Strategy in Detail :
By providing examples such as Existing
initiatives and Proposed Initiatives, The
Resilient Jakarta Strategy encourages
stakeholders to innovate and participate more
in order to build resiliency.

Collaboration In Generating Intelligent Solution
To be a Resilient City, intelligent solutions must also be generated from the collaborative process of various
stakeholders. In Jakarta, this effort was conducted through the development of Jakarta Smart City (JSC) Program
JSC acts as a hub in connecting government and stakeholders who have ideas or alternative solutions
that can be a catalyst to build Jakarta’s Resiliency

Integrative Dashboard
Through various collaborations, Jakarta already has an Integrative Dashboard that connects various data to improve
coordination and accelerate the decision-making process

Jakarta also has a channel (Citizens

citizens to collaborate by giving
aspiration that could help and trigger
government to improve their services

Intelligent Solution from Citizens for Citizens (Crowd-Sourcing App Base)
Apart from the Government, intelligent solutions have also been developed by the community and exist for the
benefit of community
The availability of this application shows that community collaboration that supported by appropriate
technological developments could be a tactical step in order to build city’s resiliency.
Petabencana.id Sibaja (Siaga Bencana Jakarta)
Powered by CogniCity Open Source Software, PetaBencana.id is a
free web-based platform that produces megacity-scale visualizations
of disasters using both crowd-sourced reporting (Twitter) and
government agency validations in real time.
A map-based application to find out potential disasters in
Jakarta equipped with proposed evacuation routes
(provided by community). This application is focusing on
the fire disaster and flood risk map in Jakarta
