Invitation to Conference 2015
Dear Member State Representatives and Conference Stakeholders,
Pune Model United Nations will convene its Conference 2015 through 16-18
January 2015. Venue will be notified in November 2014.
I am pleased to announce the priority theme for the Pune Model United Nations
Conference 2015 as Post-2015 Development Agenda: Realizing the Future We
Want for All. The conference will be guided by the efforts and work of the United
Nations General Assembly and other specialized agencies of the UN in
developing an inclusive and affirmative post-2015 agenda for holistic
development.
Conference 2015 will simulate fourteen (14) bodies of the UN which are
forerunners in the impact oriented designing of the development agenda. Our
programme of work is thus established around the focal issues that require
attention to this regard, which are:
- international security and sovereignty;
- peace during outbreak of Ebola;
- human rights and dignity of persons;
- affirmative action and rights of persons with disabilities;
- health and reproductive rights;
- poverty eradication;
- sustainable development;
- climate change;
- wildlife protection;
- usage of outer space;
- nuclear disarmament;

- counterterrorism;
- humanitarian law;
- crime prevention;
- drugs and substance abuse; and
- criminal accountability of diplomats.
The bodies and their provisional agenda are attached as annexures to this
invitation. The bodies are divided in two brackets: Fundamental for students of
Grade VII to Grade XI, and Progressive for students of Grade XII to the ones
enrolled in University.
Conference 2015 will also witness a reformed secretarial structure of the
organization wherein the reins of responsibility will be transitioned to the
Executive Office and Senior Management Team of the Secretary-General.
Simulation of the conference will be enforced at the organizational, structural and
functional levels. Pune Model UNs News Agency will take over the official
reporting of the Conference.
I find it important to highlight that Pune Model United Nations is an inclusive
organization strongly averse to discrimination, misconduct and malpractices. As
a representative at the conference, participating members shall be bound by the
codes of conduct, policies and regulations of the organization which are in the
process of formulation to ensure a fine conference experience.
With hope that you would enhance the quality of with your substantive
participation, in exercise of powers vested in me by the Charter of the United
Nations applicable mutatis mutandis for the Pune Model United Nations, I invite
you to be a part of the Conference 2015.
