1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND MAINTENANCE The Quasar Tensing Pulley is a design made up of very simple components that do not require special maintenance.
The key points to be taken into account are as follows:
i. The assembly instructions for each tensing pulley are to be observed. ii. The screws adjusting and fixing the tensing pulley onto the guide rail and those in the tensing pulley’s
components are to be tightened with their corresponding tightening torque, in order to ensure that none of them may get loosened and may cause the incorrect operation of the tensing pulley.
iii. The location of the tensing pulley onto the guide rail is to be the appropriate one so that the rope going through the governor’s and tensing pulleys runs correctly and therefore avoids reducing both the rope and the groove’s lifespans.
iv. Prevent bumps or dents.
2 MANUAL TO ASSEMBLE THE QUASAR TENSING PULLEY
2.1 RECEIVING THE PRODUCT When you receive your QUASAR TENSING PULLEY, please unpack all the components and make sure that you have correctly received all of them by comparing them with the list of components attached in the set of drawings DYN 48.C100.00.
2.2 ASSEMBLE THE CONTACT’S BRACKET Screw the contact’s Bracket (2) on to the Attachment to the guide rail (1), as shown in Figure 1, via two M6X20 DIN 933 screws (3), two flat M6 DIN 125 washers (4), two M6 DIN 127 Grower washers (5) and two M6 DIN 934 nuts (6).
Figure 1: Assembly step 1
2.3 ASSEMBLE WEIGHT-HOLDER BAR 1 AND SHAFTS Insert M12X100 DIN 931 screw (10) into the hole on the Attachment to the guide rail part (1).
Pass the weight-holder bar part (11) through this screw (10) in the hole closest to the chamfered end. Then, insert the weight holder bar separating Bushing (12) as displayed in Figure 2.
3
INSTRUCTIONS: Quasar Tensing Pulley Cod: DYN 48.2.03 Date: 13/11/15 Revision: 03
After that, insert the TENSING pulley Shaft (13) into the next hole on the weight-holder Bar (11). See Figure 2.
Figure 2: Step 2 in the weight-holder bar 1 assembly
2.4 ASSEMBLE THE TENSING PULLEY AND WEIGHT-HOLDER BAR 2. The following components are inserted onto the tensing pulley Shaft (13) in this order: Tensing pulley shaft's bushing (14) – Nylon ring (15) – Tensing pulley (16) – Nylon ring (15) – Tensing pulley shaft's bushing (14).
After that, assemble the second weight-holder Bar (11) by making it coincide with the screw (10) and the Tensing pulley Shaft (13), as shown in Figure 3.
Figure 3: Assembly step 3
4
INSTRUCTIONS: Quasar Tensing Pulley Cod: DYN 48.2.03 Date: 13/11/15 Revision: 03
2.5 ASSEMBLE NUTS, COVER AND RELEASE-PREVENTION SCREW First, lean the protection Cover (19) onto the tensing pulley Shaft (13). Then, fit M12 DIN 125 washer (18) onto the tensing pulley Shaft (13), by making contact with the protection Cover (19). After that, assemble M12 DIN 985 auto-lock nut (17) into the tensing pulley Shaft’s thread (13).
To tighten the tensing pulley Shaft’s (13) nut (17), hold the other end of the tensing pulley Shaft (13) with a number 17 spanner, where it has milling to fit this spanner. Tighten the nut until it reaches the tensing pulley Shaft’s recess (13).
Then, assemble another M12 DIN 985 auto-lock nut (17) into the screw (10). Tighten it until it reaches the tensing pulley shaft's Bushing (14).
Finally, assemble the M6x50 DIN 933 release-prevention screw (20) along with two M6 DIN 6798 toothed washers (21) and one M6 DIN 934 nut (6).
Figure 4: Assembly step 4
2.6 FIT THE TENSING PULLEY ONTO THE GUIDE RAIL To fit the tensing pulley, use clamps (28) to attach it to the guide rail (29).
Fit the unit straight and tighten the clamp’s nut by hand. This tightening is to allow the subsequent sliding of the tensing pulley along the guide rail. See Figure 5.
Note: Visually check that the tensing pulley’s attachment to guide rail (1) is perpendicular to it (29).
5
INSTRUCTIONS: Quasar Tensing Pulley Cod: DYN 48.2.03 Date: 13/11/15 Revision: 03
Figure 5: Attachment to guide rail
2.7 ASSEMBLE THE ROPE Once the tensing pulley has been fitted, insert the governor’s rope (30) onto the tensing pulley’s groove (16) and into the weight-holder bar’s separating Bushing (12) and the release-prevention screw (20).
The weight-holder bar (11) should be, approximately, as displayed in the figure, since when attaching the weight that tenses the rope, the tensing pulley unit is to be straight.
Therefore, for the bar to be in the above-mentioned position, lower the unit by hitting the attachment to guide rail (1) with a nylon hammer until the tensing pulley is as displayed in Figure 6.
Once properly fitted, screw the clamps firmly onto the guide rail.
Note: The unit is to remain straight, except for the bar.
The clamps fastening to the guide rail (28) are to be straight so that the fastening surface is maximum.
Figure 6: Rope assembly
2.8 ASSEMBLE TENSING WEIGHT Finally, fit the weight (23) in the position shown in Figure 7. To do so, use two M14x85 DIN 931 screws (24) and, to secure it, use two M14 DIN 125 flat washers (25), two M14 DIN 127 Grower washers (26), and two M14 DIN 934 nuts (27). See Figure 7.
6
INSTRUCTIONS: Quasar Tensing Pulley Cod: DYN 48.2.03 Date: 13/11/15 Revision: 03
Figure 7: tensing weight assembly
2.9 ASSEMBLE THE DE-TENSING CONTACT After that, assemble Electrical contact (7), responsible for detecting rope’s de- tensing, onto the contact’s Bracket (2), by securing it with two M4x25 DIN 912 screws (8) and two M4 DIN 6798 toothed washers (9).
As displayed in figure 9, the de- tensing contact’s screws are to be assembled onto those inside the oblong hole in this contact.

The final appearance of the Quasar tensing pulley will be as follows:
Figure 10: Quasar tensing pulley’s final appearance
2.10 CHANGE OF ASSEMBLY SIDE IN THE QUASAR TENSING PULLEY. The Quasar tensing Pulley, thanks to its design, allows being assembled in its symmetrical position. To do so, rotate the Attachment to guide rail part (1), and assemble the De- tensing contact bracket part (2) as in assembly step 1. The rest of the assembly will be identical to the one previously described.
Please find below the change of side in the Quasar tensing pulley.
