Pointillism: A theory and technique developed by the neo-impressionists, based on the principle that juxtaposed dots of pure color, as blue and yellow, are optically mixed into the resulting hue, as green, by the viewer.

1. Open image in Adobe Photoshop

2. Duplicate image, and make sure color selector has white set for background

3. Apply Filter > Pixellate > Pointillize(Use a small cell size)

4. Add adjustment layer > Select curves

5. Lighten or darken the overall image if needed

6. Use History Brush tool to bring some details back to image if needed

7. Adjust opacity percentage to restore additional details if needed
