General Rules:
` Explain the procedure to the casualty.
` Walk around the casualty. (Never step over)
`
Perform necessary measures before transporting. Suchas airway, bandaging, etc.
` Have one person in charge of the litter team. One
person must give the instructions to the remainder of the
team so actions will be performed in unison.

` Prepare the litter.
` Open a standard litter.
` Lock the spreader bars at each end of the litter with
your foot.` Position the litter next to, and parallel with the casualty
` Kneel on the same side of the casualty, with the litter on
the opposite side of the casualty
` On the command of the head Soldier, log roll the
casualty towards you.
*MAINTAIN C-SPINE IMMOBILIZATION*

` Reach across the casualty with one hand, grasp the litter at
its closest edge, and slide it against the casualty. Soldier at
the torso of the casualty reaches across and hold the litter in
place.
` Slowly roll the casualty back onto the litter, keeping the headand spine in a straight line
` Reassess pulse, motor, and sensory function
` Secure the casualty to the litter, apply straps across chest,
pelvis and legs. Adjust straps as needed
` Apply head supports and straps
` Place casualtys wrists together, tying them loosely
` Reassess pulse, motor, and sensory function

General Rules` Carry the litter with the casualty's feet toward the direction of
travel when the ground is level or when going downhill.
` Carry the litter with the casualty's head toward the direction of
travel when going uphill.
` The leader of the squad positions himself at the head of the
casualty. All commands are to be taken from this person.

grasp the handle with hand closest to the litter and place theother hand on your raised knee

back*` On the command Two-man Carry, Move all bearers move in
unison

important, assuring that you do not cause further
harm to the casualty
` Remember to transport the casualty properly so
you do not drop or tilt the casualty. Always keep in
mind that the casualty has no control.
