Author The author is the
person who wrote the story
If we like an author, we can find other books by them to read
Illustrator The illustrator is the
person who draws pictures
They draw pictures to help show what the story is about
Text Text is the words that
make up the story
Sometimes the text may rhyme, be funny or fun to hear ready by an adult
Illustrations The illustrations are
what the illustrator draws
Illustrations help to tell the story and can be in color or black and white
Another word for illustrations is pictures
Spine The spine of a book
holds it together
On the spine you’ll find the title of the book, the author, and the call number
Call Number The call number tells
us where we can find the book in the library
Books are arranged by their call number in alphabetical order
