NICU Parent Support ProgramsFamily Support Services and the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) staff offer many education opportunities and resources for all of our new families with babies in the NICU . The following is available to our parents:
NICU orientation: Parents should attend one of these sessions during the first week that their baby was admitted .
NICU discharge: Parents should plan to attend the classes once their babies have reached a minimum of 34 weeks gestation age .
CPR training: Parents will be scheduled for this training prior to discharge .
Parents for Parents (PFP): Is a family support group provided by a group of parents whose children have graduated the NICU . PFP volunteers provide and distribute monthly gifts to all our NICU babies as well as offering parent matching . Parent matching enables families currently in the NICU to speak with graduate families whose child was in a similar situation in the NICU .

Do you have a guardian angel?
An encouraging smile. A hand to hold. A nod
of understanding. Many patients are touched by
the compassionate care of Providence staff and
volunteers who take the extra step or go the extra
mile to make a health care journey easier.
The Guardian Angel Program recognizes those who
go above and beyond in caring for a patient. It allows
anyone to recognize and make a donation to support
our patients and their families in honor of one of
these special people — our guardian angels.
