STATE TIMES NEWSRAJOURI: DistrictDevelopment Commissioner,Mohammad Aijaz Asad,chaired a meeting to chalkout strategy for implementa-tion of Gram PanchayatDevelopment Plan (GPDP)

in the district.Threadbare discussion was

held regarding execution ofGram PanchayatDevelopment Plan toachieve development onground level in rural areas ofthe district.

DDC, while addressing themeeting, directed the con-cerned officers of linedepartments to appoint

their frontline workers formaking Gram Sabha plansinclusive and effective."GPDP is an annual plan ofeach Panchayat where thegram sabhas would decidewhere the money should bespent depending upon theresources available", headded. He further said thatit is also an intensive andstructured exercise for plan-

ning at Gram Sabha levelthrough convergencebetween Panchayat RajInstitutions and concerneddepartments.

District Panchayat Officersaid that Gram panchayatshave been mandated for thepreparation of GPDP foreconomic development ofpanchayats. He informedthat the people's plan cam-paign have been rolled out asSabki Yojana Sabka Vikasfrom 2nd October to 31stDecember 2019. He briefedthat the month of Octoberhas been kept for trainingsonly while from Ist ofNovember to 31st Decemberspecial Gram sabhas will beheld for preparing GPDPfor the financial year 2010-21.

Regarding MissionAntyodaya, DPO informedthat there are 142 indicatorsof Antyodaya and said thatthe data required to fill upthe antyodaya portal is sim-ilar to the data collectedduring Back to Village pro-gramme.

BHADARWAH: Army organised a drive on health andhygiene at Atkhar Public School for spreading awareness onhealth, hygiene and sanitation amongst the students and localpopulace.

The lecture was conducted by Medical Officer of Army toencourage students and local populace to follow good hygien-ic and sanitary practices for good health and keep their sur-roundings clean. People were also made aware regarding theadverse effects of use of polythene in our daily life and its illeffects on our environment.
