A MESSAGE FROM DEACON PATRICK
As many of you know, my time at Our Lady's Parish is
nearing its end, and I will be given a new assignment upon
ordination to the priesthood. Since arriving in 2014, I
have very much enjoyed getting to know so many of you,
taking part in various parish ministries, and working in the
school. In many respects, through the mentorship of Fr.
DiPerri, I have been able to experience an ideal parish
setting that I hope will serve as a model for my future
assignments. My last official weekend here will be
May 7-8, but I will be offering my first Mass of
thanksgiving here the day after ordination. I would
therefore like to extend an invitation to all of you to attend
either event. The details are as follows:
Ordination Ceremony: Saturday, May 21, 9:00am,
Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington St, Boston.
First Mass of Thanksgiving: Sunday, May 22, 2:30pm,
Our Lady's Parish. Informal reception to follow
in the parish hall. Please RSVP to Sharon if you will
be attending the reception.
Many thanks for all of your support and kindness over the
past two years.
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Deacon Patrick Fiorillo

SPECIAL COLLECTION—MAY 21/22
Cardinal Seán has authorized a special collection in all
parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston in support of relief
efforts to those areas devastated by the powerful
earthquake that struck Ecuador last Saturday. The Catholic
organizations that have been working in Ecuador in recent
years include Pro Cristo, founded here in the Archdiocese
to provide medical and family support services, and Rostro
de Cristo, founded by Fr. Jim Ronan of the Archdiocese.
The proceeds of this special collection will be used to
assist these organizations, which are now joining in the
emergency response efforts, particularly with respect to
medical care and also other Catholic relief efforts. Please
make checks payable to “Our Lady’s Parish” with “Ecuador
Collection 2016” in the memo. On behalf of Cardinal
Seán, thank you for your attentiveness to this important
collection and expression of our solidarity with those who
are suffering.

DIVINE MERCY—SECOND GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD
Begins Saturday, June 4, 2016 after the 4:00pm Mass in Our Lady’s
Conference room of the school from 5:15-6:45pm
The 10 part video series Divine Mercy retreat only requires a
guidebook for each participant. Whether you’ve read the book or
not, you are in for quite a treat. The Augustine Institute has put
together one of the most amazing visual presentations of one of the
greatest stories ever told based on the book, “The Second Greatest
Story Ever Told” by Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC. They’ve brought to
life the drama and splendor of God’s merciful love revealed in sacred
Scripture, key moments of Church history and realized in our present
time of mercy. The videos are fast-paced and cover a lot of ground.
The participant guidebook helps guide the small group discussion
each week. We look forward to you joining. Contact Iona Pasqual
at [email protected] to register by May 14.
ROSARY
Join us on the 1st SATURDAY of each
month at 3:15pm for the recitation of the
Rosary and the meditations.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
On behalf of Our Lady’s Parish and
Academy Staff, we wish all mothers a
Happy Mother’s Day. (Including mother’s of
our four legged family members)
We also remember all the mother’s who
have gone home to the Lord.

DO IT ANYWAY
People are often unreasonable, illogical and
self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish
ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends
and true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy
overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget
tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be
enough; Give the world the best you have anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
(adaption of a text from Kent. M. Keith that Mother Teresa
put on the wall of her children’s home in Calcutta)
