NKW YORK. Dec. A.-*A>)—Glfford A. Cochran, wealthy social regis-terite, sportsman and business executive, was found dead today apparently of heart' disease In the hallway of his Madison avenue apartment The body was found by a milkman making his rounds. • Mr. Cochran, noted for hia extensive, string; of race horses, was formerly president of Alexander Smith & Rons, Yonkers carpet manufacturers, and was an official of a number of other concerns.
Cochran owned one of the most successful racing stables. Last season his colors, green and old KOld. hashed to 40 victories of the turf and came Into the money ?! times.
