1 WELCOME
We are welcoming the following staff members: Ms. Nkosingiphile Zulu and
Ms. Rosemary Hanley, appointed as Physiotherapists from 1 May 2017.
Ms. Lufuno Masindi, appointed as teacher from 1 May 2017.
2 FOREST TOWN’S GOT TALENT 2017
Forest Town’s Got Talent auditions will be held from 15 to 19 May 2017.
The auditions will take place after second break and the finals will be held
on 29 June 2017. Please encourage your children to participate and show
their talent!
3 PHYSIO SPLINT SHOE DRIVE 2017
We are appealing to you to please help us collect much needed 2nd hand
children’s takkies and sandals (still in good condition & up to adult size 6).
These shoes will be used for our underprivileged children with their assistive
ankle foot orthoses (Afo’s) splints. This will help them to be more inde-
pendent with their walking. Thank you for your generosity.
Please send all donations of shoes to the Physiotherapy department.
4. *WHAT THE SCHOOL NEEDS*

1. MODIFIED CAMP: NOVEMBER 2017
A friendly request to parents to start paying for the camp, please. Thank you, Ms. Shirley Lock
2. ALL LEARNERS TURNING 18
Parents please note that in the year that your child turns 18, he/she needs to leave the school at the
end of that year. It is the parents’ responsibility to find alternative placement for their child.
3. GRADE 7 LEARNERS IN 2017
Learners completing Grade 7 this year, have to leave the school at the end of 2017. It is the parents’
responsibility to find alternative placement for their child.
4. LEARNERS IN SENIOR MODIFIED PHASE
Learners in the Senior Modified Phase will have to meet the criteria required in order to be accepted into
the Work Experience Programme.
5. PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES
All parents are obliged to pay school fees in terms of Section 40 of the SA Schools Act, unless they have
been granted exemption from the payment of school fees. The criteria for the total, partial or conditional
exemption of parents, who are unable to pay compulsory school fees, will be determined in accordance
with the criteria set out in the exemption of parents from school fees regulations (as amended in Govern-
ment Gazette 39392 of 17 November 2006).
6. PRIVATELY RUN BUS TRANSPORT SERVICE AT SCHOOL
If transport fees do not reflect on the schools’ books by the 7th of each month, you will be notified and
your child will not be able to use the bus until payment has been received. Please keep in mind that EFT
payments takes 3 days to reflect, therefore your payment must be done by the 3rd of each month in
order for it to reflect by the 7th. Once you have received the notification, please do not take your child to
the pickup point, as the bus driver has been instructed not to pick up any non-paying child until the amount
outstanding has been settled. Please note proof of payment request below.

When you are doing EFT payments to the school, please send proof of
payment IMMEDIATELY to [email protected] or fax to 011 6460134. Please
use your child’s name & surname as reference and add what the payment is
for.
