L01 - Drive Programming with the New PowerFlex 525 AC Drive: Learn the basics of drive programming using the new PowerFlex 525 compact AC drive. Attendees will configure these drives using the Human Interface Module (HIM), Connected Components Workbench and Studio 5000 (formerly RSLogix 5000). You will also try out AppView,™ a new feature that provides specific parameter groups for popular applications. Finally, experience the drive’s ease of integration into the Logix environment using the embedded Ethernet port and add-on profiles in Studio 5000.
L04 - Optimize Machine Design with Motion Analyzer Software: Learn how to use Motion Analyzer software to help optimize your machine, minimize risk and decrease time to market by making it faster and easier to analyze, simulate and select motion control systems. This session will highlight RSLogix 5000 integration and focus on the addition of the new Kinetix® 5500, VPL motors, Integrated Drive Motor and Integrated Linear Thrusters.
L05 - Basic PLC Programming with Micro800 Controller: This introductory lab will cover the basic capabilities, applications and programming of micro Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). This lab will teach basic concepts of PLC control and introduce the new Micro800 Controller features such as password protection, improved HMI usability, expansion I/O configurations and motion.
L06 - Advanced PLC Topics for Micro Controllers with Micro830 and Micro850 Motion Capabilities: Learn how easy it is to configure and control up to 3 axes of motion for simple positioning applications with the Micro830 and Micro850 controllers. Fundamental motion programming concepts such as Home, Jog, Move and others will be taught to you. Furthermore, learn more on advanced concepts such as aborted moves and how Touch Probe can be used to improve motion accuracy in specific applications with no added cost.
L07 - Modular Programming Concepts with RSLogix 5000-Based Systems: Learn about Modular Programming concepts and how they apply to industrial equipment. Rockwell Automation uses these methods and other well-proven best practices to support OEMs worldwide. The presenter will lead you through the fundamentals of Modular Programming to help you create more modular, reusable, and reliable application code. Applying modular concepts enables developers to minimize the effort required to complete a new application, speeding time to market and delivering equipment that is easier to start up and maintain.
L09 - Introduction to Logix: Learn how to reduce development time, start-up and maintenance of your control system by designing, creating, downloading and testing an RSLogix 5000 program using a Logix Programmable Automation Controller.
L10 - Practical Hands-on Application of Security to Industrial Control Systems: Learn how to protect your Logix system against emerging threats. This Lab will show you practical ways to protect the intellectual property contained in your Logix controller, manage employee access to your control system hardware, and improve tamper resistance. This lab highlights security features available with the Logix v21 Controller.
L11 - New Techniques to Increase Efficiency with PanelView Plus 6 Applications: Learn how new features in PanelView Plus 6/FactoryTalk View Machine Edition can help reduce your HMI development time, while making your applications more secure. This hands-on lab will focus on using global objects, leveraging parameters and faceplates, and extending functionality with ActiveX controls. Customers interested in remote connectivity to their HMI application will also benefit from a section of this lab dedicated to FactoryTalk ViewPoint v2.0, featuring a new tag write capability.
L12 - Effective Design Methods for Integrating Safety Using Logix Controllers: Learn how you can improve safety and productivity while reducing cost using the integrated standard and safety GuardLogix® solution. This lab uses simple built-in safety instructions and features to demonstrate how easily these goals can be achieved.
L15 - Process System Tour for Operators, Control Engineers and Maintenance: The PlantPax Process Automation system provides a total plant control solution. Tour the capabilities of the PlantPAx system through the eyes of a plant operator, control engineer and maintenance engineer. You will learn about the PlantPAx architecture, terminology and capabilities while interacting with the system under different user roles.
L16 - Architecting an Information System: An introductory lab to learn how to visualize, analyze, and optimize your production processes using the Rockwell Software® Manufacturing Intelligence suite of products. See how FactoryTalk VantagePoint EMI integrates and contextualizes both real-time and historical data from your automation systems to provide rich dashboards and reports allowing you to gain visibility into your production processes for improved decision making.
L20 - Integrated Motion on EtherNet/IP – A Scalable Motion System on a Single Network: Learn how to apply Kinetix Integrated Motion, with Kinetix 350 and CompactLogix controllers, to control a wide range of machines on standard EtherNet/IP. This new offering was designed to provide scalability by simplifying integration of the entire control solution on one network – including HMI, controller, motion and I/O.
L21 - Introduction to Vizualization Using FactoryTalk View Site Edition: This hands-on lab focuses on building FactoryTalk Site Edition applications. Topics include a distributed topology discussion. Working with security, common applications for VBA, database connectivity, trending and data logging, global objects, screen navigation techniques and an introduction to FactoryTalk ViewPoint.
L22 - Applying EtherNet/IP in Real-time Applications: Using EtherNet/IP solutions allow you to realize real-time communication between your industrial and non-industrial networks. Learn about these techniques, best practices and products to optimize your plant network. A prior understanding of general Ethernet concepts, or attendance of the Fundamentals of EtherNet/IP session, is recommended for attendees.
L23 - Basic Data Collection and Reporting Using FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition: Introductory FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition lab covers basic elements of system configuration, data collection, and reporting tools. Learn how FactoryTalk Historian SE provides an engine of unmatched performance and scalability. See the power of autoconfiguration and diverse control system/HMI connectivity.

L24 - Basic Drive Programming with PowerFlex 750-Series Drives: Learn the basics of drive programming using the PowerFlex family of AC drives, including the latest PowerFlex 755 AC drives. Attendees will program these drives using both device programmers and PC software.
L25 - SLC to CompactLogix Migration: Learn how to easily convert an SLC system to a CompactLogix system using IAB and translation tools provided by Rockwell Automation. Two scenarios will be presented: 1) replacement of a SLC system, processor and I/O, with a CompactLogix system and 2) replacement of the SLC processor with a CompactLogix while retaining the SLC I/O.
T02 - Increasing Software Development Efficiency Using the Integrated Architecture Tools: Learn about new and existing Integrated Architecture tools that can speed implementation of your control system in all phases of the project. T68 - Protecting Your Equipment through Power Quality Solutions: Disruptions and irregularities in power can cause computerized machinery to go off-line, precision instruments to fail, and control systems to shut down. T78 - Migration Strategies and Tools for Aging Distributed Control Systems: Do you have an aging DCS that needs updating? Learn how to connect, integrate and migrate your existing DCS systems to the PlantPAx Process Automation System. Whether your migration is a phased or rip-and-replace project, on one or multiple sites, this session will provide insight into best practices to follow.
T79 - Implementing Safety Functions – Mitigation Steps After the Risk Assessment: Once the Risk Assessment is complete we are left with the task of appropriately mitigating our identified risks. In this session we will explore how our Functional Safety System Requirements are defined and how we can develop our Safety Functions based on and including the system architecture, safety circuit design, guarding, verification and validation meeting the performance level required. We will also identify tools available to help us through this process.
T80 - Tools and Strategies for Sustainable Machine Design in Motion Applications: Looking to design a more sustainable machine without sacrificing performance and the bottom line? This session takes a look at how Kinetix Motion Control tools and products can help machine builders achieve their sustainability goals while maintaining a competitive edge. T81 - Review of Power Control Harmonics, Power Factor, Distortion and Displacement: This session will review harmonics in power systems caused by Adjustable Speed Drives, current vectors, total power factor, distortion and displacement power factor and their affect on the kW billed by the utility. It will also provide a comparison of various harmonic mitigation techniques used with Adjustable Speed Drives, with a focus on how they also affect the power distribution system to which they are connected, including generator supplies.
