Lovelorn Class: Reptilia
Daniel Wang
Between the phylum chordata and the orders crocodilia, squamata, and testudines...
I’m the cold-blooded master of disaster, the scaly rival for survival!
Reptilia’s the name, adaptation’s my game.
I’m looking for a mate. Are you the one?
Habitat So diverse I can be found
almost anywhere (except Antarctica and anywhere else that’s always cold)
Got to be flexible with my heat. Metabolism’s not my thing. Heat doesn’t stick well with me (although you could easily change all that)
Got to be near my favorite foods, can’t afford overexertion, it’s just not cool.
I dig.
I dig water.
I dig trees.
Favorite ActivitiesWhen I’m idle~:
sunbathing in the morning, chilling in the afternoon, taking walks
When I’m hyped: running around, hunting, swimming, trying to find mates
Genealogy Our ancestors were mostly carnivorous (read: awesome) and sought
food in the form of small packets of high energy like insects.
Herbivorous ancestors developed a method of slow digestion of leaves and flowers that was suited towards our low-profile metabolism
One of our greatest advancements was the development of amniotic eggs, eggs that were adapted to terrestrial life. They protected the embryo with a solid, yet permeable shell, while also allowing the embryo gas exchange and waste disposal.
Specialized Features Scales that camouflage protect, and warn 3-Chambered heart Breathe using lungs Excellent vision (can often see into infrared or UV range) Venom, jaws, and muscles for hunting prey much larger than
