1st Background
Low Temperature in Spring
(LI Y and Yang X G, 2010)
Guizhou is high incidence
area for late spring
chilling. Low temperature
in spring usually result in
lowly growing for tobacco
seedlings.

Sunless Weather
Guizhou is located on the
yunnan-guizhou plateau, and
average sunshine time
between January and April is
only about 95 hours during
seedling. Flue-cured tobacco
is a light crop, therefore,
sunless weather would lead to
development retardation.

Spring Drought
Drought in spring is the main
meteorological disasters on
yunnan-guizhou plateau karst
area. Spring drought is the
disadvantage of transplanting
and survival for tobacco
seedlings.

Sunlight: Appropriate shading at seedling stage
can improve growing of tobacco seedlings.
(Wang et al., 2010)
Temperature: Plants grown at high temperature
showed higher electron flow devoted to
oxygenation of RuBP than plants grown at low
temperature. (Zhang et al., 2013)
Moisture: Effect of water stress on all the traits
related to yield, quality traits and all the traits
related to yield except numbers of leaves.

Field Experiment Pot Experiment
Combined with the field and pot experiments, it was to study on photosynthetic active
radiation (PAR) level, air temperature, soil evaporation, leaf water potential and to
analyze leaf photosynthesis and maximal photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm) of
photosynthetic system II (PSII) in well-cellar style transplanting (WCST), compared
with conventional transplanting (CT).

Evaporation simulation system
Simulated evaporation 563 min (about 9.38
hours), and evaporation capacity was 2189.49 mm
for WCST and 2587.58 mm for CT.
Evaporation speed was 3.89 mm min-1 for
WCST and 4.60 mm min-1 for CT. Evaporation rate
for WCST was reduced by 18.25% than CT.

Soil Moisture
Relative humidity for
WCST ranged from
64.28% to 100%,
however, RH for CT
ranged from 25.71% to
97.75%.
Therefore, leaf water
potential for WCST was
always higher than CT.CT:常规移栽;WCST:井窖式移栽
