Secretary Report Winter has been good to us with our club rounds, Our July round
was deferred because of Skullcandy (Gromfest) Surfing contest at
Lennox early July & the 3rd Sunday turned out a pearler for the
club meet with a awesome winters morning conditions at Lennox
Main.
The wrapup, regarding the 22nd Lennox Longboard Classic 2019.
Well in it’s 22 years it was one of the best. Perfect 2 Pristine
winters days , with morning incoming tides , favourable banks @
Lennox Main & offshore winds . It all came together to make it
really memorable. The competitor participation , all divisions
basically filled. With some classy longboarding skills from Some new
& some old longboarders surfing in this years event.. The Surf was
clean & very surfable, with some decent sets (overhead) hitting
some of the heats over 2 days. 5 longboards lay as casualties
broken or creased .
Mate always thanks goes to the Steering committee of each Classic
& Headed by George Leslie & Grant Ryan (coordinators) PICTURED
It was put together with the usual finesse. Thanks goes to all in
the club who backed up for the setups & pulldowns on both days.

Secretary Report Con’t Head judge again was Daffy. He’s been supporting the Classic for
years. He runs a smooth panel. We are always happy to have him
back to Lennox, as this town & beach has a special significance for
him in the past. A founding Member of the Lennox Longboarders.

Longboard Classic Wrapup

The weekend of the 3rd & 4th August, The 22nd Lennox Longboard
Classic 2019 was held at Lennox Main in 2 days of pristine sunny
days & a Southeast swell with wave sets up to meter & a half.
Some 100 Competitors converged on Lennox Head over the weekend.
to longboard surf covering 7 age & Gender divisions. good winds
offshore most of the morning. Set the stage for some standout
Longboarding over the weekend in Lennox.
Competitors traveled in from east coast Destinations Woolgoolga
NSW to the Gold Coast QLD.
Standouts for the comp were the Ladies Final . Closely contested
with the eventual winner to Lee Middleton of Lennox Head.
Charlie O' Sullivan from Woolgoolga was a standout in both the
Open 9ft & Over 40's & Showpiece noseriding to Bryce Watson
from Palm Beach Gold Coast
2 boards were given away The Competitor's longboard from Free
Flight/ Sideways was won by Denis Carberry of Burleigh.
And the Raffle Board from Amos Shapes to Carol Mison of Evans
Head.

A big thankyou to the Lennox Surf club for their water safety,
Entire contest surveillance C/- Jet ski A1 & Appeciated by all
TWO days of laid back Comp Longboarding was had at Lennox Head.
This event has been supporting charities such as the NSW Cancer
Council, Disabled Surfing Association & THE Local Westpac Rescue
Helicopter.
In the 22nd year of this event we again will be supporting
the above.

Club Rounds Wrapups Sunday 21st was the deferred July Club round , Due
to Skullcandy / Gromfest @ Lennox Head main beaches spanning the
weekend previous.
30 Crew fronted to surf on a pristine winters day at Lennox Main.
With a incoming tide, 2- 4ft waves & catching us out in the late 2nd
rounds A Northeasterly. A rare occurrence for 3 weeks.
Standout for this round was Terry Kay winning the Firsts &
Veronica Silver representing the Ladies contingent , featuring also
in the 1sts final. Some Foil surfing displays from Aaron Smith
between his longboarding displays.
The Groms got into it at the half way mark of the morning
The kids were again frothing to surf and were super stoked to be
wearing brand new kids rashies. Outstanding waves from Zoe Silver,
Tasman Foster, Charlotte Ashdown, Vinnie Durkin, Pat Silver, Keo
Durkin and Angus Robertson. Some great wipeouts too on the shore
break but smiles all round. Yew!!
