• Thepurchasingmanagerisanagentforthefirm.Thetermspurchasingmanager,buyer,andpurchasingagentwillbeusedinterchangeably.

• TheRFQisanexcellentwayforthebuyingfirmtotestthemarketwithoutmakingalegalcommitmenttopurchase.

• TheRFQlackstheintentcomponent.• Whentheintentcomponentismissing,thedocumentismerelyaninvitationtobid.

• In1996theUnitedNationsCommissiononInternationalTradeLaw(UNCITRAL)adoptedtheModelLawonElectronicCommerce,whichoffersmemberstatesoftheUnitedNationsmethodstoaddressbarrierstotheuseofelectroniccommunicationsintheircommerciallaw.

• Asecuresignatureshouldbesuchthatitcanbeusedtoidentifythesigner.
