EXPERIENCE:

Interior Architecture Intern Yost Grube Hall Architecture, Portland OR, June -September 2015Assisted through the Test Fit, Design Development, Furniture Selection, and Construction Document phases on a large office tenant improvement project. Got the opportunity to work side-by-side, and learn from, multiple experienced architects and interior designers to learn about the design process. Became very proficient in Revit.

Teaching Assistant1st Year Design Studio, University of Oregon, Winter 2015Assisted in preparing for classes and lectures. In order to lead students through the transition into the studio curriculum I taught them drafting, model building, and did design desk critiques. Not only did I feel as though I was able to help the students become introduced to the world of architecture, but I learned a lot about how to articulate ideas and give constructive criticism.

Study AbroadFurniture Design Studio, Danish Institute for Study Abroad, Summer 2013Spent a summer studying the art of furniture design and carpentry while adapting to a new culture in Scandinavia. The program consisted of 3 weeks of traveling through Denmark, Sweden, and Finland visiting furniture designers, manufacturers, and show-rooms. We then had 2 weeks of learning and design within our assigned material. Finally we were able to go to the Danish Royal Academy of Architecture for 2 weeks of woodshop in order to build our prototype. After school was finished I was lucky enough to then spend another 2 weeks traveling through Ireland, exploring my heritage.

Night Manager Cold Stone Creamery, Tucson AZ, June – Sept. 2012 + May 2010 – June 2011Led staff in making sure all duties get performed, such as verifying that the shop was running soothly and the store was closed and locked for the night. Daily tasks mainly included, serving customers, working with cash registers, cleaning the store, decorating goodies and, of course, singing for tips.

CURRENT EXTRAS:

Youth Soccer CoachU10 Volunteer Soccer Coach, LYSA, Spring 2015Although not design related, one of my favorite parts of my day is when I get to take a break from working and get outside to play with a team of hilarious 8 and 9 year olds; A team which they have lovingly named the “Tuscan Raiders.” The kids have personality that wont quit and they really push me to get outside of my school routine and have some fun.
