America and occupies nearly 50% of the South
American Continent.
Geographic Features:Brazil can be divided
into four topographical zones. The densely

America's Pacific coast

A series of low mountains known as the Coastal

Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers. In the
southeast lie vast wastelands, notably the Mojave
Desert, site of Joshua Tree National Park.

more than 1,100 mi from Nihau to Kure.
Abundant sunshine; expanses of lush green plants
and gaily colored flowers; palm-fringed, coral
beaches with rolling white surf; and cloud-covered
volcanic peaks rising to majestic heights. Some of the
world's largest active and inactive volcanoes are
found on Hawaii and Maui; eruptions of the active
volcanoes have provided spectacular displays, but
their lava flows have occasionally caused great
property damage.
