their cars everyday Cars need regular maintenance in order
to remain dependable Car batteries normally last 3 – 4 years It is beneficial to learn how to jump start
your car battery just in case it suddenly dies on you
Jumper cables A friend with a working car
1st: Open the hood of both cars
2nd: Connect the positive (red) end of the jumper cables to the positive knob (it should be labeled with a +) of the dead battery.
3rd: Connect the positive (red) end of the jumper cables to the positive knob (it should be labeled with a +) of the working battery.
4th: Connect the negative (black) end of the jumper cables to the negative knob (it should be labeled with a -) of the working battery.
5th: Connect the negative (black) end of the jumper cables to a metal part of the car with the dead battery (normally a knob on the engine block that isn’t painted works fine)
6th: Have your friend start their car 7th: Start your car 8th: Have your friend turn their car off
9th: Remove all cables and close all hoods
10th: Leave your car running for at least a half an hour to recharge your alternator
