THE DRIVE FOR QUALITY
The specialist fit-out and refurbishment sector is a demanding market where stakeholders expect the very highest standards of delivery and service.
As a result of this, Ibex have identified the need for trusted relationships with our supply chain partners to ensure we manage and control the quality of each and every project.
A CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENT
Unlike most other trades, Specialist Joinery companies are always required to purchase their materials very early on in the contract. This procurement process takes place long before the materials can be brought to site and installed, which can create financial demands on the trade contractor.
The contractual arrangements of our industry unfortunately do not recognise the level of investment and funding required for this process to succeed.
Valuations are monthly and often with extended payment terms. The necessary payment required for ‘materials off-site’ is often overlooked and replaced with more demanding clauses.
As a consequence of these potential delays, highly respected specialist joinery companies have failed as trading conditions have become less tolerant.
TIME FOR CHANGE
To sustain the large and modern workshops required in today’s environment a move to a ‘reward for excellence’ culture is required. This is the basis of the Ibex Specialist Joinery Club initiative.
↗ A clear and understandable set of deliverables that the Specialist Trade Contractor controls and is managed by the Ibex Project Teams.
↗ Entry into the Joinery Club is considered following the completion of successful projects.
↗ A high level of customer service is essential for the contractor to remain a member of the Joinery Club, and the criteria will be constantly monitored.

THE TEAM
THINKING OF JOINING?
We are always looking for additions to the Joinery Club. The criteria for membership covers the following areas:
1) Do you believe in constantly reviewing your internal quality control procedures?
2) Do you believe that customer satisfaction is essential?
3) Are you flexible and willing to assist in design development and project solutions?
If the answer to the above is YES, then we would be glad to consider you as a member of our Joinery Club.
Please contact Bill Bowers on 0203 206 4311 or [email protected] to discuss further or visit our website, www.ibex-interiors.co.uk for more information.
The fit out sector is notorious for seeing companies and trade contractors go bust. While sometimes this may be due to bad management, all too often it is a result of poor cashflow, and we have all seen companies that produce the highest quality of work, fail for this reason. A failure affects us all, leading to delays for clients, tarnishing reputations, often having a knock-on effect across several projects, and hitting smaller trade contractors.
As a well-backed member of the sector that has always sought to grow prudently, we set out to see how we could break this cycle and ensure that those working with us are not exposed as they have been in the past. This is a genuine attempt to make a difference in the sector. We will be encouraging others to follow our lead, and help consign some of the fit out industry’s bad habits to history.
