"Learn to dance with the universe. My experience –increasingly – over the past several years is that we can learn to work in tune with the universe. Often when we are in flow, things don't actually come from us, but rather come through us, and it is our work to learn how to be this channel, and how to access flow."

PROJECT OVERVIEW
Global Citizen Summer Camp is one of the biggest projects held annually by AIESEC FTU Hanoi. This is a 7-‐day camp with the presence of more than 120 Vietnamese students aged from 14-‐18 and international students around the world. The project is envisioned to develop and empower students to become Global Citizens-‐ the next generation of leaders of the country who are not only responsible for their lives but also for the development of the society. Since the project was initiated in 2011, lots of growth and positive changes from generations of campers and international students have been witnessed, and this year, we are honored to spread that impact to a wider audience with the 5th Global Citizen Summer Camp of AIESEC FTU Hanoi.
OBJECTIVES
With the vision to develop the young generation of Vietnam to become Global Citizens, our project aims to:
1. Provide a chance for students to develop comprehensively (physicality, intellectuality, creativity, emotion).
2. Create a multicultural environment to immerge students in, hence, they will beware and form a Global mindset.
3. Enhance their self -‐awareness, equip them with essential skills (especially leadership and management skills).
4. Give knowledge about social & global issues and give students opportunities to take actions to bring societal positive changes.

ACTIVITIES
Here are some of the activities in Global Citizen Summer Camp 2014 that did mesmerize all of our campers, interns, and AIESECers and are likely to appear in the 2015 Camp.
Handmade class Campers freely registered their favorite handmade classes delivered by interns. Each intern stood a class and taught Vietnamese students how to make a traditional toy from their countries out of simple materials.
Sport festival All campers were divided into 4 houses according to 4 houses in Harry Potter. They competed in a variety of sport competitions such as the “Quidditch” tournament, the relay & obstacle race, traditional sport competition.
Social action Campers were assigned different small projects (paper recycling, cooking, book collecting) and implemented their social actions with the visit to many underprivileged people. That day was marked with tons of touching moments and a remarkable change was noticed when campers, interns really demonstrated the social responsibility with their actions and their sympathy.
8
Childhood reflection Campers reflected and shared with others about their childhood memories with both happiness and sadness insides. Lots of tears were shed when listening to others stories and sharing the personal ones.
Global Fiesta The camp was closed with the colorful Global Fiesta conducted with cultural booths from interns’ countries. People sang, danced, held hands and cried together when time to say Goodbye came.

Accon-‐oriented

Social impact
Interns are granted the chance to develop the young generation of Vietnam through many socially based activities, hence, they will be more aware of their ability to create a social impact.
Action-‐oriented
A fascinating but challenging working environment our project presents comes with a wide range of difficulties that must be faced during the internship, so interns are required to be action-‐oriented and dare to try new things and approach.
Cultural understanding
Interns who join the program have the chance to research and learn about world issues, culture, history, architecture, cuisine, language, economy and the people in the host country. They will also gain global mindset when working in a team with many nationalities.
Marta Azevedo Silva – Portugal
Intern of Summer Camp 2014
“Those six weeks gave me the opportunity to redefine my goals, to understand that sometimes our problems are very small in comparison with the rest of the world. Mark Twain once said that “the two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out” and during this trip I discovered mine. I learned to love deeper, to respect others, to understand the differences and to enjoy every moment living the present. You may not realize what you are doing when you are in a foreign country and it’s only when you come home that you understand the importance of what you did.
I really want to thank everyone that made this journey possible”
