Instructions to locate an abstract in the DOAJFOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS TO LOCATE AN ABSTRACT

Next, click on Search orAdvanced Search

On the left-hand side of the screen, you should see a set of search parameters
You will need to set only three of them:
Journals vs. ArticlesSubjectJournal Language

Click on Journal vs. Articles and then on journal

Choose a Subject from the ten (10) main subjects. I chose Technology

Subjects are divided into subtopics. You may select the one you prefer.

I selected Mechanical engineering and machinery
You can view your choices and reset your search.
Now, it is time to pick the language in which the journal is published

Click on English to make sure the journal you choose is in English.
Read the names of the journals (listed on the right side) and select one you find interesting

If you click on the name of the journal, you will remain in the DOAJ webpage and you will be shown a brief description of the journal.

If you click on the URL of the journal, you will leave the DOAJ webpage and you will be shown the home page of the scientific journal you chose.

The next step is to look for the issues of
the journal and to locate the table of
contents so that you can choose an
article by its title.
Depending on the journal, you will
have different formats and information.

Look for words or expressions like:
Issues
Current Issue
Table of Contents
View articles
Volume 1, 2, 3, etc.
…until you find the table of contents.

If you can’t find any of those expressions, ask for13
In the case of Advances in Mechanical Engineering, I had to scroll down to find the list of volumes and numbers

From the table of contents (Volume 2, Number 4), I selected an article by clicking on the PDF icon next to the title.You may try clicking on the title or on words like abstract, full text, full paper, etc.

It is VERY IMPORTANT that you:
Make sure the abstract is NOT divided into sections. That is, it should NOT have subtitles like: objectives, method, results, etc.
Choose a Research Article, NOT a Review article.
Send me ([email protected]) the link to the abstract (OR the PDF file) so that I can check the abstract and approve it.
Remember the Deadline: Wednesday, Oct. 15th, 2014 at 11:59 p.m.
Keep in mind that 2 points will be taken off of your grade on the Abstract Assignment if the abstract you send by then is not approved.
