2.2 Integrating sphere and goniometer geometries
Illustration of sphere measurement geometry. Optical
measurements are made via a spectroradiometer
located on a satellite sphere at the equator. An
absorption correction measurement is applied to each
measurement.
2.0 Scope of testing
Photometric and electrical testing in accordance with IES LM 79-08 IES Approved Method for the Electrical and Photometric
Measurements of Solid-State Lighting Products. Measuremets are made using the sphere -spectroradiometric test method and the
goniometer - spectroradiometer test method.
2.1 Test protocol and data reduction
1. Sphere-spectroradiometer measurements are reported for all values except luminous intensity distribution and results derived from
luminous intensity distribution measurments.
2. Sphere measurements are made in a 40'' integrating sphere with geometry as shown below. Absorption correction measurements
are applied to all sphere measurements.
3. Luminous intensity distribution measurements are made with a a type C goniometer coordinate system (reference IESNA LM-75) in
the geometry shown below.
4. Data is reported for the 380nm to 780nm spectral range with a 1 nm resolution.
5. Test samples are allowed to reach electrical and photometric stabilization per LM-79 requirements prior to measurement.
