I was working with a younger, female patient in theICU. She was mentally alert but angry and hadbeen verbally abusive throughout her stay.

As I was taking her vital signs, she grabbed mystethoscope which was around my neck and heldme down with it while she spit in and punched mein the face. I left with a fat lip and a black eye.
