Start Me Up Niagara is proud to mark its first remarkable year in the Queenston area. Harvest is a time for celebration for SMUN and our new community friends as we come together for a HARVEST FESTIVAL in Centennial Gardens Park, (To-tem Pole Park), Saturday, October 2, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy a musical and fun-filled afternoon between the Community Garden plots and the Native Totem Pole. Come down and find out about local green space, health services, crafts, foods and more. Don’t forget to enter your photo creation for exhibit in the ‘Green People Competition’ - call Julia at 905.984.5310 ext. 13 for more info. Tuesdays and Thursdays are now harvest days at SMUN - come by and spend a morning helping gather and share in the bounty that our first crop of gardeners provide. Then you can visit our kitchen for old-fashioned can-ning. And don’t forget that we take orders for THE GOOD FOOD BOX Program at the beginning of the month. The SMUN centre nurse practitioner is available Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. No health card or appointment needed!
