– Eclipse works with or without LCS Access Proxy
Eclipse provides the security enterprise user require
– Full SIP firewall features + MTLS/TLS support for LCS federations & remote Office Communicator
– SRTP support for media encryption with future Office Communicator upgrade
– Eclipse can be used as an alternative or compliment to the LCS Access Proxy

LCS/OCS and BroadWorksInterworking (calling party activities)
As part of this call, Office Communicator provides a “Phone Control” window to allow the calling party to control the call (hang up, transfer, conference, hold, etc.)
Multiple sets of phone numbers can be associatedwith an LCS user
Step 1: Calling party uses Office Communicator “Click to Call”capability by selecting the called party phone number from buddy list (Click to Call function also works out of any Microsoft application)
Step 2: LCS sends the CSTA message to Covergence, Covergence converts it to an OCI message & sends it to BroadWorks, and BroadWorks rings the calling party phone
14CONFIDENTIAL AND PROPRIETARY TO COVERGENCE INC.
Using LCS/OCS and BroadWorksInterworking (called party activities)
Step 3: Once the calling party picks up the phone, the outgoing call sequence will be initiated. When BroadWorks gets the outgoing call request, it will ring the called party phone AND send an OCI message to Covergence. Covergence then converts this incoming call OCI message to CSTA and sends it to LCS. LCS then forwards it to the Office Communicator so it can “ring” the called party Office Communicator….
….When Office Communicator gets the incoming CSTA message from Covergence, it will pop-up a “toast” indicating there is an incoming call
At the same time the Office Communicator “toast”pops-up the called party phone also starts to ring
Step 4: If the Office Communicator “toast” is used to answer the call, a “Call Control” window pops up. The called party phone is also taken off hook using SIP Notify messages. The phone can also be answered simply by picking up the handset.

Three LCS/OCS BroadWorksBusiness Models
1. Hosted BroadWorks and LCS
– All components hosted by service provider
– Shown as scenario 1a & 1b in the following slides
2. Hosted BroadWorks, Enterprise LCS
– Communications services hosted by service provider, but enterprise retains desktop applications
– Addresses market where enterprise wants to in-source IM&P application; much like e-mail servers today
– Shown as scenario 2a & 2b in the following slides
3. Hosted BroadWorks, Outsourced LCS
– Communications services hosted by service provider, but LCS hosted by a third-party service provider
– Addresses market where communications service provider does not want to manage the LCS solution; service opportunity for outsourcer
– Shown as scenario 3a & 3b in the following slides

uaCSTA – SIP Call Control Gateway
Eclipse serves as an SBC for Office Communicator clients and SIP phones and also provides a uaCSTA – SIP call control gateway function
– Anchors all SIP signaling, control and associated media streams– Executes uaCSTA call control commands via SIP– Translates SIP call state changes into uaCSTA events
All OC phone control features are supported– Make Call, Answer Call, End Call, Hold Call, Transfer Call, Deflect Call, Do Not Disturb, Mid-
Call DTMF Tone Generation…
Works with generic SIP application servers and gateways– Not tied to a particular vendor’s CTI or call control protocol
Enables generic SIP infrastructures to support OC/LCS remote call control
