*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (Apostles’ Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only
Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under
Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose
again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Fa-
ther Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the
Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the
resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
*GLORY BE TO THE FATHER #813 Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen, amen.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION O Holy God, we acknowledge to You, to ourselves, and to one another that we are not what
You called us to be. We have not stood by our faith, shared our hope, or reached out with
love. Instead, we have allowed ourselves to become blind to the world around us. Open our
eyes that we may see the world as You see it, and know You as fully as we are known by You.
In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON (1 Peter 2:24)
Leader: Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sin
and live for righteousness; by his wounds we have been healed. Therefore, let us assure one another of
God’s pardon.
All: In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.
ANTHEM Out of the Depths (Psalm 130) K. Lee Scott
Chancel Choir
PRAYER OF ILLUMINATION
Spirit of God, speak once again through the Words of Scripture that our listening ears may
hear Your voice. Help us to place Your Word in our minds, treasure it in our hearts,
choose it with our wills, and live it through our bodies. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
Out of the depths I cry to thee,
Lord, my sins bewailing!
Bow down thy gracious ear to me,
make thou my prayer availing.
Mark not my misdeeds in thy book,
gracious Lord, most holy;
on my sins in mercy look;
who can stand before thee?
Hear my prayer, hear my cry,
hear my supplication.
Thou my hope, thou my light,
thou my soul’s deliverance.
With thee there is forgiveness, Lord,
love and grace abounding.
The greatest thought or deed or word
were else but empty sounding.
All who in thy sight appear
come in sinful measure;
all before thee bow in fear
seeking thy good pleasure.
Hear my prayer, hear my cry,
hear my supplication.
Thou my hope, thou my light,
thou my soul’s deliverance.

SCRIPTURE READING Psalm 130 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If
you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with
reverence, serve you. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. Israel, put your hope in
the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all
their sins.
Leader: This is the word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God!
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

*DOXOLOGY #815 OLD HUNDREDTH Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him, all creatures here below.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION
SCRIPTURE READING Luke 18:31-43 31 And taking the twelve, he said to them, “See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything that is written about
the Son of Man by the prophets will be accomplished. 32 For he will be delivered over to the Gentiles and will
be mocked and shamefully treated and spit upon. 33 And after flogging him, they will kill him, and on the third day
he will rise.” 34 But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not
grasp what was said. 35 As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. 36 And hearing a crowd going by, he
inquired what this meant. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.” 38 And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of
David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out
all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover
my sight.” 42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he re-
covered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

Message from The Session...
Dear DHPC Family,
The Session of DHPC has made the decision to maintain the existing church life
schedule and practices in the following manner:
• Live worship on March 29 and April 5 will be suspended. The church will
stream one worship service at 9:45 am. You can access live streaming by sub-
scribing to the DHPC YouTube Channel at
www.youtube.com/channel/UC4esVFuHv_gtrIE82cR0WrQ
or by following DHCP on Facebook.
• Live services for Maundy Thursday (April 9) and Good Friday (April 10) will be
suspended. These services will be streamed at 7:00pm each day. Our leaders
are working to create meaningful Holy Week services.
• An email will be sent in advance of each service with the links for live stream-
ing and the Order of Service.
• All Bible studies, book studies and home groups are encouraged to meet via
Facetime, Skype or other electronic means. Leaders may still, for example, provide lessons, questions, devotionals, etc. to keep their groups engaged.
• A Zoom Meeting account is being created for any group to access should they
desire to meet online. Stay tuned for details!
• The church office and campus will remain closed to the public. Staff will still be
onsite during nor mal office hours and will be answering the phone.
• Other resources are available at www.deserthills.org.
• The session will continue to re-evaluate the situation based upon recommend
dations by the CDC and from our federal, state and community leaders.
The Session and staff will continue to seek new and creative ways to keep you con-
nected to the church through email, social media and the church website. Please
join us in praying for our church, community, country and the world during these
trying times.
May the hope and peace of Jesus Christ be with us all,
The Session of DHPC

STAY CONNECTED WITH DHPC!
We provide several ways for our congregation to stay connected with the church:
• The sermons are put on the DHPC website by Monday of each week so you can listen to the sermon on your computer,
tablet or smart phone. Our website is www.deserthills.org
• Sermon links are posted on the DHPC Facebook page and we will be streaming the service live on Facebook.
• A link to the audio version of the sermon will be emailed each Monday.
• A live version of the worship service can be accessed through the DHPC YouTube channel. Click on the link below to view
and subscribe. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4esVFuHv_gtrIE82cR0WrQ. You may view the worship service on any
day, any time.
• We will provide a PDF version of the Order of Service including words to the hymns and scriptures.
SHOPPING ASSISTANCE
We are here to assist you with your shopping needs!
Please call the church office if you need assistance with groceries or supplies.
MESSAGE FROM FINANCE TEAM
DHPC members are encouraged to
mail their pledges to the church.
The Finance team will be meeting each week.
DHPC does not offer an electronic offering option. This decision was made for two
reasons. First, the monthly and per transaction fee to the church would reduce the
offering amount.
Second, parishioners can elect on-line bill pay through their banking institution at no fee to them or the church. If you would
like to set up automatic donations contact your bank. You will need to provide them DHPC's address (P.O. Box 874 Care-
free, AZ 85377) your account number and your first and last name.

•That God would calm fears and that His people
would be reminded we have a different identity—
one of boldness, not of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).
•That the Church (and specifically DHPC) would
be a calming presence and radiant light in the face
of so much confusion and darkness – a people of
compassion who intentionally reach out and love
their neighbors.
•For world leaders as they would be united for
the common good and work with healthcare or-
ganizations and the medical community to devel-
op next steps.
•For wisdom and insight for researchers and biol-
ogists as they work to develop a coronavirus vac-
cine.
•For patience, wisdom, and a gentle spirit for first-
responders, physicians and hospital staff around
the world who are tasked with triaging, testing,
and treating increasing numbers of people.
•For church leaders that they might be the voice
of reason, clarity, grace, and truth as they offer
insight and wisdom to their congregations and
communities.
•For comfort, strength and support for the fami-
lies of those who have died and for those under-going treatment.
•For those whose jobs or hours have been cut
due to economic downturn.
•For parents who are struggling to work and care
for their children.
•For churches to create ways to reach out to
families in their communities to provide for them
and show them the love of Christ.
•For God’s people worldwide to be unified as one
Church as we minister to the world around us
who are living in fear of the unknown and are in
desperate need of guidance and lasting hope.
•That we as God’s people would be certain in
mind and heart of our hope in Christ and the
truth that our Savior who died and rose for us
has already overcome the world (John 16:33).
A CALL TO DAILY PRAYER
One of the ways we can remain connected through the
next few weeks is through prayer. DHPC is inviting you to
pause in the midst of your day in the comfort of your own
home to join us daily from 7:00-7:30pm in a spirit of pray-
er for our church, state, nation and world during these
trying times. Please pray through these specific requests
(adapted from Lindsay Lowry’s article “Praying Through a
Pandemic”) as well as add your own.
Please pray...
