HAMBURGHIGHLIGHTSTHE HARBOUR EXPERIENCE
COSMOPOLITAN AND MARITIME
In Hamburg, water is everywhere you go, and naturally nowhere more so than at the harbour. You can tell you’re close to the sea. The “Gateway to the World” has an unmistakable air of freedom, adventure and distant lands. Seagulls wheel and call, and the breeze bears a distinct tang. From the floating docks of Landungsbrücken to the busy container t erminals, there is a constant coming and going of cruise liners, freighters from all corners of the globe, grand old sailing ships and nimble small craft.
HafenCity is perfect for a relaxed stroll, or to see and be seen.
The Landungsbrücken docks offer the best view of the harbour.

It’s also an architectural gem and picturesque idyll in direct proximity to the bustle of the port. Over a century old, this is the world’s largest contiguous warehouse complex. To this day it is used to store precious trade goods, from coffee, spices and tobacco to the largest stock of oriental carpets in the world.

Hamburg’s most flamboyant part of town is many things, but never boring. On the famous Reeperbahn, nearly everything is possible. Partying is what it’s all about, in trendy bars and stolid old pubs, in discos and live music clubs. St. Pauli is one big temptation – sometimes loose and loud, sometimes moving and melancholy, but always surprising and absolutely irresistible. Everywhere you go there is something of a questionable moral nature to see (and maybe do).
