JOURNAL CITATION REPORTS (JCR)
IMPACT FACTOR (IF)
The journal Impact Factor is the average number of times from the journal
published in the past two years have been cited in the JCR year.
-The Impact Factor is calculated by dividing the number of citations in the
JCR year by the total number of articles published in the two previous
years.
-Example : For 2014 IF
Citations to 2012+2013 Articles
Articles published in 2012+2013
-An Impact Factor of 1.0 means that, on average, the articles published in the previous two years have been cited one time.
QUARTILE RANKING
- Calculations by quarterly ( 25 % ) according to the
ranking IF in the same field
• Q1 denotes the top 25% of the IF distribution
• Q2 for middle-high position (between top 50% and top 25%)
• Q3 middle-low position (top 75% to top 50%)
• Q4 the lowest position (bottom 25% of the IF distribution)

3.Type Matric No./

5. Click LOGIN

6.Click letter ‘J’ to search JCR
online database
7.Select JCR from journal
title list.
